I told you I was moving on,
That’s not quite true,
Started seeing another lass,
This much you knew.

Something didn’t feel right,
Knowing that my heart was elsewhere,
I don’t know, something didn’t click,
And importantly she wasn’t ….

I told you I was happy,
That’s the only lie I told,
I hoped I could move on,
But more I lied to folk,
More I knew this not to be true.

I know now after attempting dating,
an attempt at seeing someone else,
That my heart it beats,
and it beats only for you!

I know I will be unhappy,
The distance is great. But
I know that you make me happy,
I sometimes wish that wasn’t true.
